2017-2018 Community Partnership Application

What is the mission of the Partnership Program?
To provide high-quality arts enhancement programs for local schools, agencies, community organizations and after-school programs.

What is a partner?
A partner is a Tampa Bay area school, agency, community organization or after-school program selected by the Straz Center in order to develop performing arts educational experiences based on need and expressed commitment. Through these programs, partners will gain true appreciation for the performing arts, and strengthen their arts education experience.

How are partners served by Straz Center?
The Conservatory will work with partner organizations to provide exceptional educational outreach experiences. Outreaches are defined as services we provide to you at your location or at the Conservatory: master classes, workshops, lecture/demonstrations, invitations to attend final dress rehearsals for performances as well as complimentary tickets for Straz Center or Patel Conservatory shows.
What is the partnership selection process?
Step 1 – Complete application
Step 2 – Site visit
Step 3 – Interviews
Step 4 – Selection
**Not all organizations will make it through all four stages of the selection process**
What criteria are needed for an organization to apply?
  • Organizations applying for a partnership must be a community agency/organization, not-for-profit organization, or a school program that serves disadvantaged, underprivileged or underserved populations in the Tampa Bay Area. (If you are applying as a school, you must be a Title 1 school to qualify for partnership.)
  • Organizations must have a dedicated space/location and on-site coordinator. The space must be conducive to learning and must accommodate movement for both dance and theater outreaches. On-site coordinator must be dedicated to the outreach and assist the Conservatory in student discipline and engaging parents for showcases when applicable.
  • Organizations must meet all insurance requirements of the Patel Conservatory and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
  • Organizations must sign and comply with all areas of the partnership agreement, including but not limited to participant releases, program assessments, evaluations and site visits.

When are outreaches offered throughout the year?
Outreaches are offered between the months of September 2017 and May 2018. The duration, timing and scheduling of all outreaches are subject to partnership level and outreach availability. All dates are subject to change.
What if my organization is currently a partner or was a partner previously, do we need to re-apply?
Yes. All previous community partners must re-apply.
What if our organization is not selected as a partner this year?
Organizations that are not selected as a partner will still have the ability to attend master classes, workshops, lecture/demonstrations, invitations to attend final dress rehearsals for performances as well as complimentary tickets for Straz Center or Patel Conservatory shows. Additionally organizations not selected may reapply next year and will automatically be placed on our contact waitlist if an opening becomes available. Please note that the Straz Center may not be able to accommodate all partnership applicants; however, we will make every effort to consider your organization as opportunities arise.
How can my organization apply and when is the deadline?
Applications are currently available. All applications must be received by Friday, April 28, 2017. Applications can be mailed or delivered to:
